Our pricing strategy is set to give our Clients the fullest benefit of our customized services. For all services below, the variance in the total price is determined by document type, length, level of difficulty, and turnaround time required. The initial 1-hour consultation is at no cost to the Client. Additional consultations, requested by the Client, will be $35 per hour.
TRANSCRIPTION is revising hard copy (paper form) or audio recorded manuscripts into soft copy (electronic copy). There is a $450 minimum for transcribing and our rates vary from $3 to $4.50 per page. The minimum transcription fee of $450 is required for project commencement and the balance is due upon project completion.
READ & CRITIQUE offers a complete book-length manuscript evaluation. A book-length manuscript is calculated as 125-400 pages (approx. 30,000 to 100,000 words). This cost is $425—which is deductible from the total cost if the Client hires us to complete the editing project for the manuscript. Our fee for reading and critiquing shorter works varies depending upon the length and complexity of the work. The manuscript is thoroughly read and the Client is then provided a detailed evaluation of its strengths, weaknesses, and general market readiness. The total cost is required for project commencement.
EDITING is exacting a document using a precise set of methods. Generally, our editing rates vary from $10 to $15 per manuscript page. A manuscript page is an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet, double-spaced set in 12-point Times Roman (or equivalent font), with a 1.25-inch margin on all sides. Our per-page editing fee equates to approximately 250 words per page. There is a $250 minimum for all manuscripts to edit regardless of size. As a customized benefit to the Client, a general report of the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript is provided. A 50 percent deposit of the total cost is required for project commencement and the balance is due upon project completion.
NOTE: The per page edit rate will not be renegotiated after a READ & CRITIQUE for the same manuscript. The rate is based on the work as it was given before using the READ & CRITIQUE to better the manuscript.
GHOST WRITING involves varying levels of researching and writing a work that is officially credited to the client. The cost for this service is priced at $50 per manuscript page. A manuscript page is an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet, double-spaced set in 12-point Times Roman (or equivalent font), with a 1.25-inch margin on all sides. Our per-page editing fee equates to approximately 250 words per page. For a typical book of 200 pages the cost would be $10,000. Our terms are that a $5,000 retainer fee would allow work to begin which would allow for 100 manuscript pages of the work to be completed. Further retaining costs would be requested as needed to continue or complete the project. The balance of the cost is required upon delivery and acceptance of the completed work.
A BOOK PROPOSAL is a special marketing package that is put together for the publisher. It contains critical information about the author’s new best-seller – and it propels the author’s chances of getting published. Our book proposal rate is $1000 per proposal; however, a book proposal can be included as a complementary service in a ghost writing or editing package depending on the contract. A 50 percent deposit of the total cost is required for project commencement and the balance is due upon project completion.
